Recently, under the leadership of Professor Tao Guoquan, Director of the Department of Surgery of the First Hospital in Huai 'an, the gastrointestinal surgery team of the hospital completed the first radical resection of distal gastric cancer (complete endoscopic reconstruction of digestive tract) with the assistance of Da Vinci robot to preserve the greater omentum in Huai 'an, providing advanced and accurate diagnosis and treatment services for patients.

The patient of this operation was an elderly male who was admitted to hospital due to "intermittent dull pain in the upper abdomen for 1 month". Professor Tao Guoquan's team evaluated the patient's condition after comprehensive gastroscopy and other examinations, and determined that he was suffering from gastric antral cancer and needed surgery.

Combined with the individual situation of the patient, after multi-disciplinary discussion before surgery, the patient underwent a radical operation of distal gastric cancer with the preservation of the gastroomentum by Davench robot. The operation was successful after 3 hours.

After the operation, the patient exhaled and drank water on the second day, drank liquid on the third day, removed the abdominal drainage tube on the sixth day, and reached the discharge standard on the seventh day. The operation effect was good and the postoperative recovery was fast.
